Taking care of babies

In July of last year, as soon as she started daycare, Reid started playing with “babies”. I was surprised that she found them interesting since she was just a baby herself in my eyes. Since then her collection has grown considerably and she has both babies and dollies (more grown up) and she plays with them according to their age. First things first, she generally takes all of their clothes off but she’ll sometimes put a diaper on them. Sometimes her dad puts the diaper on the doll’s head but Reid fixes that. For the past few months, Reid has told me that her baby needs to nurse on the other side while she nurses. After a while, baby needs to switch to the other side and Reid will switch then, too. She is very considerate that way ;+) Last weekend, Reid decided to take matters into her own hands or at least to her own self, and was nursing baby herself. It’s funny to see her arranging herself on a pillow, covering baby and herself just so and then nursing her. It’s interesting that when she nurses baby that she covers herself since when I nurse Reid I cover myself but she won’t be covered. No one is as a good an observer than a small child.
