We read many books, including:
- Jesse Bear, What Will You Wear? by Nancy White Carlstrom;
- Thomas Snowsuit by Robert Munsch;
- A Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle;
- Violets House by Julie Aigner-Clark, several times;
- Max Found Two Sticks by Brian Pinkney;
- Les saisons et leurs couleurs (no author);
- The Ants Go Marching illustrated by Jeffrey Scherer, many times by Mama and Daddy;
- Worlds Greatest Mom (no author);
- I Am Not Going to Get up Today by Dr Seuss;
- Barnyard Banter by Denise Fleming;
- What hat is that? (no author), a fun, little pop-up book; and
- The Mischievous Angels (no author), a book that always causes Ken and me to discuss how Lucinda ended up being “the laundry angel” as it seems to be a punishment, to our way of thinking anyway.
Before bed we read:
- stories in Munschworks 2, The Second Munsch Treasury, including:
- Pigs, which I have decided is a good story as long as I change “dumb” for “silly” when we encounter it;
- Mortimer, a story that Reid has been refusing for the last while, perhaps because she had me read it so often for a while last fall;
- Murmel, Murmel, Murmel, I hope that Reid has the strength of character to help a smaller person that needs her assistance but I don’t think that she should drive a transport truck when she is five.
- The Angels Lullaby by Joyce Carroll Thomas, I think Reid has figured out that I really like this book and so she asked for it after I said that we were done reading for the night.
