We read:
- I Have to Go! by Robert Munsch, twice, Reid likes the way that Andrew says, “No, no, no, no” when asked whether he has to go pee but really he does. She likes to say the “no’s”;
- Put me in the Zoo by Robert Lopshire, read by Daddy;
- Care Bears Nighty Night (no author), a book that works at naptime, too, apparently;
- Hunting for Honey and Tigger’s Discovery from the Winnie the Pooh Friendly Stories (Disney Musical Treasury) by Guy Davis, with only two or three singings of the Winnie the Pooh song interspersed;
- What Is Valentine’s Day? by Harriet Ziefert, with liberal additions by Ken who thinks Valentine’s Day is the most commercial of holidays;
- Oliver’s Milkshake by Vivian French, a book that sees Oliver on a farm to get the milk for the shake from the cow (but not from the pig or sheep, though the goat is a possibility);
- Buzzy Had a Little Lamb by Harriet Ziefert, about a little donkey who isn’t allowed to take his stuffed lamb to school but is able to pretend he has a lamb;
- A Kitten Called Moonlight by Martin Waddell, beautifully illustrated and a sweet story;
- My nose, your nose by Melanie Walsh, I like the message about differences and still having points in common but there is one point at which there is a little peach-faced kid with the line “person X is white” and then “person X is brown”. The first kid is not white;
- Zoom! Zoom! Zoom! I’m Off to the Moon! by Dan Yaccarino, a book with a good rhyme but many exclamation points;
- Benny’s Bus (no author); and
- I Love You as Much by Laura Melmed, twice, with pauses to discuss the animal mothers and babies and their surroundings. The mama mouse loves the baby as much as the grain in the mill.
