Books we read, March 9th

We had a day full of reading:

  • I Need a Valentine! A Lift-the-Flap Story by Harriet Ziefert, Reid just loves the flaps;
  • The Train Ride by June Crebbin, I mentioned the plane ride we’ll soon be taking. I looked for a book about going on an airplane at Chapters but couldn’t find any in-stock;
  • This is the Bear by Sarah Hayes, dogs are trouble for teddy bears;
  • Caillou Good Night by Christine L’heureux;
  • Bumblebee, Bumblebee, Do You Know Me? A Garden Guessing Game by Anne Rockwell, seeing the flowers made me wish for spring. When we get back from San Diego, I think that Reid and I will plant some seeds so that we can watch them grow. Maybe the crocus will be up, even;
  • Giggle, Giggle, Quack by Doreen Cronin, this is the author of Click, Clack, Moo – Cows that type and other similar fun titles. If anyone were searching for a book for a two-year old, one by Cronin would be a good choice;
  • This Little Piggy Played the Fiddle by Susan James Frye, when Reid pulled it off the shelf, her eyes sparkled and she said, “Shannon has”, in reference to our Kindermusik teacher. Shannon has been reading the book the last couple of classes;
  • Love and Kisses, Kitty: A Lift-the-Flap Valentine by Max Haynes, again it’s the flaps that draw Reid in or at least they add to the attractiveness of the book;
  • Several pages of My Little Animal Book by Jo Rigg, that we read as an “I Spy” sort of thing;
  • Sleep Tight, Roosevelt Rhino (no author), a book that we used to read often but which has been in a bag of Reid’s for a while. It’s good to see it again;
  • Moo, Baa, La, La, La! by Sandra Boynton, a book that has long pleased all of us in the house.
