Oh look, there’s some spaghetti

Aunt Karin was reading from Reid’s San Diego scrapbook as they both sat on one side of the table. Reid decided that she wanted to sit in the high chair and so moved to it and then asked Aunt Karin to come sit next to her again - which, of course, she had been doing before Reid changed seats. Reid was in her highchair and got a funny look on her face. In one smooth motion she lifted her foot, saw a piece of spaghetti, picked it off her foot and then popped it into her mouth. Aunt Karin didn’t have time to decide if she should stop her let alone do it.  Reid didn’t seem to think that there was anything odd about what she’d just done. Those table manners must have skipped a generation. I’m not sure who to attribute them to.

That’s my daddy!

Yesterday, a bunch of us watched a tape of The National from Friday. When Ken was on the tv, everyone made a big deal about Reid’s daddy being on. Reid had a great big, kind of shy smile at all of the attention and her eyes were glued to the screen. It was much better than when we showed her the tape on Saturday while she was sick. Then, she had to keep her eyes on the screen while throwing up into a container.

At the end of the segment, when Peter Mansbridge appeared, Dylan declared proudly, “That’s my Daddy!” Melissa has some ’splaining to do. Good thing he looks like his real daddy, eh? ;+)
