Actually …

The latest tool in Reid’s linguistic toolbox is “actually” and she is using it a lot lately. Imagine a girl and her daddy snuggled together reading a book. Imagine the daddy describing what the hippopotamuses are doing. Then imagine a sweet, clear voice saying, “Actually, that one is a rhinocerous.” You won’t have to stretch your imagination to see the mama sitting in the rocking chair trying not to laugh. Reid is always gentle and helpful when she corrects us. It’s rather amusing since she is solemn, knowledgeable and TWO. I think this one might be attributable to me. When read will say that something is the same as something else, I will agree that the two things are similar but the new one is ACTUALLY something else. I’m trying to add clarity without telling her that she is wrong outright. Maybe I need to phrase things differently.

Have a great day. Even if, actually, the weather is disgusting.
