On Friday afternoon, Grandma Joyce told Reid that they both needed a nap. Reid laid on her side on the couch and Grandma Joyce sat in the recliner. Soon, though, Clio jumped up and lay beside Reid. She put her arm around her “dat” and they napped together. Clio stayed on the couch for the full nap, even after Grandma Joyce covered the two of them with a blanket. That night, Reid was so proud to report that she had slept “by myself, with Pooka.”

Yesterday, I stayed home until lunch and Reid and Uncle Roger walked with me to the bus station. Reid was pretty tired and I was hoping that she’d fall asleep in the stroller on the way home but she didn’t. When Uncle Roger told Reid that it was time to go to sleep, though, she said that she wanted to sleep in her stroller. She climbed in and had her nap. What an independent kid she is getting to be - a bit odd maybe, but still independent.
