Quite some time ago, Reid had a frog in her throat. At first she seemed to think we were joking when we labelled the trouble she had as a “frog”. We all had colds at the time and so she heard the term used a few times and knew we weren’t tricking her. Since that time, the frog has left her throat – and moved to her belly. The frog is especially troublesome at naptime and bedtime, when it begins to jump and makes it difficult for her to fall asleep. Reid has explained that when she lays still to sleep, the frog wakes up. When she moves about, the frog goes to sleep. Just like she knows she did when I was pregnant with her. Mealtimes can also be a problem when you have a frog in your tummy. The frog doesn’t always want to eat what is on the plate. Sometimes there simply isn’t room for supper with a “big daddy frog” already in your tummy.
I could use some ideas for getting the frog out of Red’s belly permanently. Nothing obvious, I’ve already tried the obvious stuff.
This probably won’t remove the frog but it could be an alternate solution.
One day my 3 1/2 year old was doing a good job of eating all of her lunch and then asked for seconds. I jokingly said “You must have a hollow leg!” A few days after she informed me that when she eats her food goes in her mouth, down her throat and into her legs so she can get taller.
Maybe Reid has hollow legs that need to be filled up too?
That being said…aren’t kids imaginations just great! I think as adults we get stuck “in the box” too much…we should take notes from our kids more often.
What a great imagination! We’ve been talking about frogs in our throats a lot here as well as we’re getting over colds. Fortunately my girls haven’t thought of that, though.
Is there a food she likes that you could deem was not good for the frog in her tummy? “Oh, I’m sorry, Reid, frogs cannot have ________. Once he moves out, you let me know, and you can have some.”
If he comes back after she’s done the first, which I’m assuming he will, then you can just change it to, “Oh, we’ll have to wait a long time before we can try that again just to make sure it doesn’t make him sick.”

Il est très ennuyeux pour moi que Firefox ouvre toujours mp3, wmv, mpg et types de fichiers opther dans la fenêtre du navigateur. Est-il possible de le mettre à toujours ouvrir ces fichiers dans Winamp, VLC Player, ou nimporte quoi dautre?….
